It features a sewn-shut, fully insulated footbox that offers an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio for any adventure. Design a fully custom bag exactly the way you want it. Be sure to check our guide below to help you get started.
How do I choose my quilt size?
Start by checking our Sizing Guide. It will help you decide on the best length, width, and footbox size for your quilt.
Which Pad Strap Size should I choose?
Select your Pad Strap Size based on the width of your sleeping pad. If your pad is wider than 56 cm, we recommend the Wide option. Otherwise, the Regular size will work fine.
Which Fabrics can I choose from?
Toray 10D Ripstop Nylon (28 gsm, DWR-treated)
Our premium Toray fabric offers an excellent balance of low weight, durability, and weather protection. The tight weave and DWR treatment improve resistance to wind and moisture while helping retain warmth inside the bag, while the ripstop construction increases tear resistance and long-term durability. Soft against the skin and suitable for both inner and outer shells, it is available in a wide range of colors.
10D Taffeta Nylon (22 gsm, DWR-treated)
Our lightest fabric option for those focused on minimizing weight. It saves approximately 20 g per shell compared to Toray while still maintaining good durability. Due to its lighter construction, it offers less protection against wind and moisture. Available in fewer color options.
What extra options are available for custom quilts?
-
Overfill: You have the option to add 20g,40g or 60g of extra down. Each 20g will add around 1°C to the comfort rating of your bag
-
Water-resistant footbox: We can add water-resistant fabric to the first two baffles of the quilt, protecting the foot area from moisture. This is a great option for those who cowboy camp, sleep under a tarp, or often find their quilt touching tent walls with condensation. The water-resistant fabric is only available in black color.

'Excellent quality and beautifully crafted.
Jakob / April 2025
"Good luck finding a better quilt — that’s all I’m saying. For me, it works even in slightly colder temps than the rated -1°C, and can be boosted further with a down jacket. Bonus points to Henrik for letting you choose your own colors too! For those who don’t know, Vilse quilts are sewn right in the heart of Malmö, in a small basement workshop (I’ve been there!!). If you’re into local gear and Swedish-made products, Vilse is definitely the way to go. Perfect for anyone who wants to fine-tune their gear down to the smallest detail, but doesn’t want to make it themselves."
'Orange inner so it's easy to find your way in when it's dark.
Magnus / April 2025
"Finally got my quilt from Henrik at Vilse Equipment. Perfect for 3 seasons. The quality is absolutely perfect."
'What quality! Absolutely wonderful.
Lennart / Mars 2025
"Received my second quilt from Vilse today. A pure summer quilt weighing just 419 grams, with a down weight of 250g, including 20g overfill. I’m not sure about the comfort temperature yet, as this was a special project from Henrik, but I’d guess around +5°C. Excited to test it out!"
'Very happy with my purchase!
Sebastian / Mars 2025
"Vilse quilts are incredibly well-crafted. They’re sewn by ONE person who oversees the entire production. There are no loose threads, bad stitches, or missed details. I've used the quilt in temperatures as low as -5°C and it performed excellently."
'Love at first touch.
Linda / January 2025
"Finally, I can count myself among those who own a quilt from Vilse. An unfitting name, really — because I feel like I’ve finally found home. Definitely not VILSE!"
'New to hiking.
Alexander / January 2025
"I had never even tried a quilt before, so even though these are known to be top-tier, I wanted to see and feel them for myself. I gave Henrik a visit in his workshop in Malmö, and after handling the quilts and having a brief chat with him about his philosophy and values, I was convinced. I placed my order almost immediately. Since Henrik handles everything himself, there’s a few weeks lead time."
'Over the moon.
Anita / December 2024
"I used my Vilse this summer and my standards have been higher ever since! It works just as well in a hammock as in a tent, and can be combined with other sleep systems to handle colder weather. Extra fun to be able to choose colors and details, making it just the way you want."
'Finally had the chance to try my new winter quilt.
Erika / December 2024
"Wonderfully fluffy and comfortable! The quilt wraps around perfectly – the snap buttons sit slightly higher on the outside, which prevents any gaps from forming. I’m also really glad I went for a slightly wider footbox and more width up top, even though Henrik recommended a narrower fit. I toss and turn at least ten times a night, and a too-tight quilt can let in cold air. Plus, my dog sleeps inside the quilt with me, so she needs space too. The craftsmanship is excellent – it feels very well made throughout."
'The craftsmanship and design really impressed me!
Daniel / December 2024
"I’ve read many positiv reviews about quilts from Vilse over the summer and fall, and now it’s my time to give credit where credit is due!
First, the details everyone’s curious about:
Made for my 188 cm height, wide model with a closed footbox, 900fp down and a comfort rating of -1°C — it weighs in at 587g.
I received my quilt at the start of summer and since then it’s joined me on a bunch of adventures — hiking in the mountains and lowlands, paddling in the archipelago, and car camping — in everything from warm nights to just a few degrees above freezing. I haven’t had the chance to push it all the way down to 0°C and really test the limit, but in damp conditions just above freezing, I’ve stayed warm and slept great. The included pad straps and draft collar have kept me cozy with hardly any noticeable drafts. On warmer nights, I’ve skipped the pad straps and just stuck a leg out to regulate the temperature. That worked perfectly, even with the closed footbox — I haven’t once wished I’d gone for an open one instead.
I can confidently say that Henrik’s quilts are top-tier — I’m very happy with mine. If you’re in the market for a quilt, I can echo what many others have said: a Vilse quilt is the way to go!"
