A quilt is a type of sleeping bag optimized for weight savings for ultralight adventures, but the design also offer some surprising benefits for more comfortable sleep outside. Let's break it down!
No hood and open back means we save a lot of weight
By removing uncessary parts we reduce material use up to 30% compared to a regular sleeping bag. Less material also means less packed volume.
Doesn't that make it cold?
When you compress an insulator like down by laying on it, it won't insulate as well. It is actually the trapped air between the fibers that keep you warm. So no air, no warmth. Instead you rely on your sleeping pad to provide insulation from the ground. You will probably need to wear a hat or baklava though, but that'something you probably packed anyways.
The surprising comfort of a quilt
By using our pad straps to attach the quilt directly onto your sleeping pad you will be able to move freely without getting tangled into the bag. The quilt's open back also offers a roomier fit for those who move around a lot. In essence, it will behave a lot more like how you sleep at home.

And if you use our Zipper version, it opens upp fully like a blanket. Perfect for warmer nights or if you really like to stretch out.
